Interested in making extra money? Well, there's lots of money on the Internet. All you need to access the opportunities is a computer and an Internet connection. Millions of dollars are changing hands every day on the Net.

Most ways to make money on the Internet require specialized knowledge, schooling, computer skills, investment in tools and training. That's the norm, but there are exceptions. One such exception is participating in paid market research surveys where you get paid for your opinion. How's that you say? Let me explain.

Over $40 billion gets spent every year on market research, and that is just in the U.S.A. Large companies must know what consumers are thinking, what their preferences are. So they hire market research specialists to find out for them. The market researchers use online surveys to get quick answers at low cost.

Surveys are big business on the Internet. Every week there are literally thousands of new surveys being made. And where do they find the volunteers who will take the time to sit down and fill out those survey questionnaires?

There's nobody going to do that for nothing. Maybe once or twice for charity, but no more. So to get a large pool of volunteers, from different areas and interests, from all walks of life, they pay them for their participation! A short survey that takes only a few minutes to fill out would pay $10. Longer surveys, say, 12-16 minutes would normally pay $25.

That's not a huge amount of money per survey, but they all add up. Take a $10 and a $25 survey every day and you would make over $1000 a month! And it only takes a few minutes to answer a survey. For surveys, there are no "right" or "wrong" answers. Usually they just want to know which you prefer, "X" or "Y", or if you have seen one of their ads.

The best part about surveys is that they require no special skills. If you are 18 or older, have enough computer skills to send and receive e-mails, then you qualify. All you need to do is to sign up with as many good survey makers as you can find. They will need your contact and demographic data (zip code, education level, gender, etc) so they know for which surveys you would qualify.

The key to making money with surveys is to get a good list of good survey makers to sign up with. The best way is through a paid membership site; you join and they give you a copy of the list they maintain. They sort out the bad and no-pay survey makers, steer you to the ones who offer legitimate paid surveys that really pay. With their list you could expect to make $200 to $1,000 a month, depending on where you live and how diligently you pursued it.

There are a lot of no-pay/low-pay survey makers out there advertising for recruits, offering "free lists" and making exorbitant claims. Generally these are a waste of time. The list distributors are being paid by the low pay survey makers to recruit YOU! They make money, you don't. You would need to be lucky to make any money at all with those lists!

So that's a pitfall to be avoided. Keep that in mind but focus on taking the correct approach, right steps to really make money with paid surveys.
